Future-proof living space in Zurich-Höngg

In the quarter at Michelstrasse 35–43 in Zurich-Höngg, a new replacement building is being constructed to provide modern and future-proof living space for the Im Michel Building Cooperative (BGIM). The existing buildings are being replaced by a contemporary new structure designed to meet the need for affordable housing and contribute to the neighborhood’s further development. The new building comprises three full stories, a penthouse level, and a total of 27 residential units of various sizes. The existing underground parking garage is being expanded to include 24 car parking spaces and nine motorcycle parking spaces.

For this residential construction project, Peikko supplied 44 concrete-filled ATLANT® Strong composite columns and EBEA® balcony connections. The composite columns support a slim and efficient load-bearing structure, while the balcony connections contribute to a thermally optimized design of the cantilevered components on the penthouse level.
