In Berlin, one of the first high-rise buildings in hybrid wood construction is currently being built. A conscious decision was made in favor of a prefabricated and sustainable ceiling construction.

The hybrid construction consists of Peikko DELTABEAM® edge and center beams and wood-concrete composite ceilings in slim-floor construction. In this construction project, the hybrid construction ensures savings in time as well as energy and CO₂.

The floors, each with a floor area of almost 2000m², are currently being built every four weeks. Through the combination of wood, concrete and a steel composite beam, the individual properties of the individual materials are optimally utilized and a very stable and innovative overall system is created.

The grid dimension of 8.10 m x 7.80 is easily realized here with a 32 cm thick ceiling package without visible beams. This means that in addition to the use of the CO₂-friendly material wood, the building height is also optimized and in many places savings can be made on vertical components such as facades. With the help of this climate-friendly ceiling system, a DGNB certification in gold should also be achieved for this construction project.
